The hot fusion method

Hot fusion is a strand technique where a strand of extensions hair is being put on a strand of your own hair with keratin as a link. The keratin is heated ud, so that it glues to your hair. This method is gentle and suitable for all hair types, as long as you get a professional to remove them. This is one of the most invisible methods because the strands follows your hair's natural movements. The keratin (glue) does not damage your hair more than if you flatten it, since keratin is a natural protein that is in hair, skin and nails. To remove hot fusion extensions, use oil or a special remover.

The tape method

Here, the extensionist puts small 4 cm. wefts in your own hair. The wefts are applied with tape. The extensionist makes "sandwiches" by placing a weft of extension hair beneath a lane of your natural hair with the tape side up. After that the extensionist puts a weft more on top of the lane of natural hair, with the tape side down, so the wefts are tape to tape -with the natural hair in between. This method is extra suitable for fine / thin hair, because tape wefts are completely flat to the scalp and is therefore almost invisible. However, it is not recommended to use the tape method in very thick hair, as it is limited how many wefts will fit, if it still should look natural. To remove these extension, use oil or remover.

The ez weft method (The HaarStraa-method)

Ez weft is a method where long wefts are applied to your own hair. The wefts are put on with small micro beards (rings) that matches your hair. The rings are made of metal with a silicone layer inside that both protects your hair, and ensures that the rings stay put. The rings are pinched together around some of your hair and some of the extension hair.

This method is very gentle, since no use is made of heat, glue or chemicals. To remove the extensions normally takes around half an hour, and is done by squeezing the micro beards in the opposite direction, as they open. Easy and safe.

EXTENSION METHODS

There are many different methods when it comes to hair extensions. The choice of method is often very personal in the light of experience and temperament. HaarStraa offers three different methods which you can read more about below.

NB. The color of the hair piece and the micro rings are random and do not fit into the doll's own hair. It is only to show how the method looks.

*Hair extensions in general

It’s a fact, that hair grows, which means your extensions will grow out as well, and therefore has to be removed at some point. Some methods can be reapplied, if the hair is still nice. Hot fusion usually needs to be removed after 2-4 months. For tape and ez weft it's about 6-10 weeks. If your hair grows slowly, you may be able to have your extensions in for longer. After this time, you can begin to see the strands / wefts and your newly grown out hair can start to tangle below the strands / wefts. If the hair begins to tangle close to the scalp and you can not untangle it by yourself, you have to have your extension removed immediately, so your own hair is not damaged. This usually only happens if your hair has grown 3-4 cm and if you have not been paying attention in time, to get the hair untangled. It is important to comb the hair at least 2 times a day, with a special extension hair brush, that can comb through the extension to the scalp.
